Basil Howard Parker

Basil Howard Parker - Born in Kentville on May 19, 1970. It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle who passed away peacefully at home in Campbell River, BC on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Basil had a zest for life, he was best known for his sense of humor and unforgettable laugh. Basil fulfilled his dream of becoming a chef. He was passionate about cooking and travel. He accomplished both in his short life. Basil made many friends and touched many hearts in his travels. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Basil is survived by his parents, Howard and Doleina (Hill) Parker, Hiltz Road; sisters, Patricia Parker (Timothy Schofield) and Grace Parker (Randy Power), both of Kentville; grandmothers, Joyce Parker, Berwick and Elsie Hill, Kentville; nieces, Kristen Dill, Berwick and Raylene Mahaney, Kentville; nephews, Cameron Mahaney, Kentville; Alex Dill, Kentville and Bradley Prosper, Surrey, BC; great nephew, Ethan Parker, Kentville; uncles, Bernard (Patricia) Parker, NB; Victor (Joanie Reese) Parker, Waterville; Douglas Parker, Glenmont; Donald (Val) Parker, Harbourville, Terry (Gail) Hill, Cornwallis; aunts, Fay (Gary) Parker-Tool, Kentville; Leona Parker, Garland; Susan (Dale) Comeau, Annapolis Royal; Donna (Scott) Larsen, Middleton; Bonnie (Junior) Phillips, Quebec; Nina (Tony) Hebb, Baxter’s Harbour; Barbara (Reginald) Edwards, Gander, NL; Sonya Hill, New Minas; 31 cousins. Basil was predeceased by his grandfathers, Lester Parker and Oliver Hill Jr.; uncle, Vincent Hill; cousins, Andrew and Aaron Hill and Lisa Phillips. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Boyd’s Funeral Services Ltd., Campbell River, BC. There will be no visitation, by request. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Mr. Junior Phillips officiating. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Research Division or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
