Donna Jean MacKinnon

Donna Jean MacKinnon - 69, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at home. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late H. William "Bill" and Eileen (Goodwin) Taylor. She was raised in Kentville, where she was educated at Kings County Academy and later MACK Business College. She has been employed in the office of the Kings County Vocational School and was a medical secretary at the Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville and in Germany. She was a member of the Kingston Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former member of the Kingston United Baptist Church, where she was active with the choir. She most recently attended the Peoples 25:40 Church, Greenwood. She dedicated her life to her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John "Jack", a daughter, Jessica  MacKinnon, Kingston; two sons, Steve (Viki), Wilmot; Rob (Julie), Penhold, Alberta; eight grandchildren, Lissa, Ashton, Austin, Tylar, Liam, Keelan, Taylor and Hannah; a great grandchild, Theodore; a sister-in-law, Donna Taylor, Sheffield Mills. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert "Bob" Taylor and an infant brother. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014, Reverend Leon Langille officiating. Interment will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Margaret Salsman Foundation.
