Laurie Haldane "Moe" Mosher

Laurie Haldane "Moe" Mosher - 77, of White Rock, Kings County, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, with his loving family by his side. Born in Wolfville on June 6, 1937, he was a son of the late Eldred and Minnie (Schofield) Mosher. Laurie was a plumber by trade and a member of the Local 56 Union for 44 years. He enjoyed sports, especially softball and hockey. He played softball and was a catcher for White Rock when they won the Valley Intermediate "D" Championship in 1967 and the Maritime Intermediate "D" Championship in 1968. Laurie was a member of the White Rock Community Association and was one of many involved in the construction of the Community Centre. He loved spending time with his family, friends and his grandchildren. He always took the time to attend sporting activities that his grandchildren were involved in. They were his pride and joy. Laurie also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing darts, playing cards and doing jig saw puzzles. He couldn't wait to plant a vegetable garden every spring and spent countless hours tending to it. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary (Gammon); a daughter, Patty (Gary) Croft, White Rock; a son, Peter, White Rock; four grandchildren, Sean, Shelby, Morgan and Andie; two sisters, Gloria (Boyd) Lockhart, New Minas; Maryann Atwell, New Minas; a brother, Doug (Paige), White Rock; a sister-in-law Joan Mosher, White Rock; several nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia and British Columbia. He was predeceased by a brother, Malcolm; two brothers-in-law, Gary Atwell and Clarence Gammon. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in the Habitant Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the ALS Society, the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
