Frank Bernard Sanford - 90, of Kentville, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville and is now reunited with his beloved wife and son. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Owen and Mary Della (Irving) Sanford. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville where he acted as chief bar steward for 15 years. He owned and operated the S&S Convenience Store in Berwick, from where he retired.  He was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing and loved his cars. He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Dona Lea Sanford, Berwick; two grandchildren, Angie Dorey and Ashlea Coleman; six great grandchildren, Brady, Skyla, Scotlyn, Rylea, Valea and Maverick; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Jean MacDonald; a son, Bernard; three sisters, Ruby, Evelyn and Leah; two brothers, Clifford and Theo. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A Royal Canadian Legion graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2014 in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
