Caleb John Lohr

Caleb John Lohr - 21, of Canning, Kings County, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Born in Kentville, he was a son of John and Heather (Leschied) Lohr, Canning. He was a graduate of Kings Edgehill School, Windsor, where he was active in their sports program and played on their championship rugby team. He was a participant in the Rotary Club of Kentville's International Youth Exchange Program, living in Belgium for one year, making many friends along the way. He later attended Memorial University in St. John's, Newfoundland. He was an outdoor enthusiast and served as a camp counselor for the opening season at Camp Brigadoon. He enjoyed travel, landscaping, gardening, canoeing and down-hill skiing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Justin (Emilee Williams), Canning; Aaron (Natasha Hope-Simpson), Habitant; Benjamin, at home; a nephew, Joshua; his maternal grandmother, June Leschied, Coldbrook; paternal grandparents, Bram and Jacoba (DeVisser) Lohr, Canning; aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant brother, Jared; his maternal grandfather, Carl Leschied. Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the New Minas Baptist Church, Reverend Sterling Gosman and Reverend Mark Sypher officiating. Burial will take place in the Habitant Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Canning Volunteer Fire Department or Valley Search and Rescue. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
