Gertrude "Gertie" Nettie Jordan

Gertrude "Gertie" Nettie Jordan, of Wolfville, NS, age 101, one month short of her 102 birthday, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Daughter of the late Osborne and Lavinia (Parsons) Atwell, Gertie was predeceased by her husband, Harry Jordan. She was the last surviving member of her family and was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by two sons, Delmar (Helen) and Wayne; a daughter, Wava Jordan, her caregiver for 10 years; grandsons, Allan (Lynn) and Richard (Machaela) Spinney, Anthony (Barbara), Jeffrey (Tausha), John (Christine), James (Kersti) and Timothy (Janice) Jordan; granddaughters, Sheri Spinney and Lisa (David) Fortner; 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Gertie was self-employed as a caregiver, in her home, to several elderly ladies and retired when she was 80. She will be sadly missed by family and friends. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. A private family interment will be held at a later date in the Willow Bank Cemetery, Wolfville. Special thanks to the VON Homecare Services.
