Gregory James Spencer

1993-2014

Gregory James Spencer

Gregory James Spencer - 21, of Wolfville. On December 28, 2014, a special young man was called home by God after unwillingly losing his courageous battle against a rare rhabdomyosarcoma cancer. He never gave up hope to miraculously win his losing battle. At only twenty one years of age, he peacefully died at home with his fiancée as he wished. He was born on July 29, 1993 in Kentville, Nova Scotia. His life was a roller coaster from the beginning; some good and some bad. He graduated from NKEC high school in 2011. He also played football and basketball for the school Titans' team. He sure will be remembered for his love and passion for basketball. Once he was hospitalized for his illness, he played his NBA game on the Xbox. He was blessed to be part of the Halifax Rainmen team of earth Angels who gave him motivation and strength during his fight. Nearing the end, he told me he was ready for his new journey. He had experienced the joy of having amazing friends, family and fiancée to support him through the most difficult transition he had to face. He was such a fun loving guy who could make anyone laugh. He lived his short life without a care and enjoyed every minute of it. He was a well loved grandson, son, brother, friend and fiancé. He fought for what he believed in, what he loved and in the end, for his life. We need to respect Greg for putting up a fight this long and those who have given him the strength to fight. Don't grieve for me now that I am free and travelling the paths God created for me. Remember me as the healthy, silly man I was before this illness attacked me. Forgive me for any hurt I may have caused you. Open your eyes, smile, love and go on. We know your draining three's from up above G-Rag. Deeply missed but never forgotten. I'll love you forever babe, I promised. Soul mates are never far away, it's not a goodbye... It's only a see you later. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
