Delbert Owen Benedict

Delbert Owen Benedict - 78, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at home in Canning. Born in Falmouth, Delbert was the only child of Owen and Ethel (Tucker) Benedict. Delbert lived with his family in Greenwich until moving to Canning in 2003. He was a truck driver for Archibald Farms Ltd. for 36 years. During his life Delbert enjoyed the outdoors, camping, music, Legion dances and travelling often to Newfoundland. He was extremely fond of dogs and all of his life he was a dog owner. He was predeceased by his wife, Georgina "Dolly" (Ploughman). He is survived by his children, Heather Bishop (Ivan), Canaan; Connie Schofield (Stan), Gaspereau; Darrell Benedict (Barbara), Steam Mill; Dana Benedict (Ronda Spears), New Minas; grandchildren, Justin, Erin, Ryan, Brenton, Alex, Abigail, Rhiannon and Destiney. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the S.P.C.A. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
