James Robert "Jim" Fullerton

 The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, NS

 

At age 87, Jim passed away peacefully at home in Greenwich on January 22, 2015. He was born on January 7, 1928 in New Glasgow. Son of the late George and Olive (Stiles) of Westville, Pictou Co., Jim is also predeceased by his sister, Dorothy McDonald, Etobicoke, Ontario, and brother, Raymond, Truro. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sylvia Mary (Brown), Greenwich; son, Gary, Glen Haven; daughter, Deborah, Antigonish Co.; and son, Robert (Michelle), Halifax; granddaughters, Kristin (Chad) Clinton, Hackett’s Cove and Lauren, Halifax, as well as five great grandchildren, Christopher, Allison, Emily, Jennifer and Nicholas. Jim will also be missed by his furry friends, Bob, Tilley and Ollie. Jim had a passion for his 34-year career with Gillette Canada. He travelled extensively, living in Toronto, Montreal and Halifax. He excelled in his position as National Sales Manager for the PaperMate division of Gillette, and later returned to his roots when he became Regional Sales Manager for Atlantic Canada until his retirement in 1991. In 1984, Jim and Sylvia moved to Greenwich, where he could expand his love of growing roses, gardening and woodworking. He had an extensive woodworking shop where he enjoyed building many projects for his friends, both two and four-legged. Jim was active in his community, including serving for a number of years as a Commissioner of the Greenwich Fire Dept. Special thanks to Dr. Rebecca Taylor Clarke and Dr. Howard Wightman for their exceptional care and compassion over the last several years. It was Jim’s wish to be cremated and his ashes buried at a later date at the Sylvester Cemetery in Pictou Co. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015. A reception in celebration of Jim’s life will follow the service. We request family flowers only. Donations may be made in support of the Valley Cardiac Rehab Society (through Canada Helps or White Family Funeral Home) or any NS SPCA.
