Ona Maude Spicer

Ona Maude Spicer – 90, of Canning, Kings County, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Canning, she was a daughter of the late John William and Mary Ellen (Newcombe) Bigelow. She worked at the Canning Post Office for a number of years. She was a member of the Canning Baptist Church. She enjoyed skating, baking, knitting, crocheting and walking. She is survived by two sons-in-law, Corey O’Dell, Centreville and Carmen O'Dell, Hantsport; grandchildren, Christina, Catherine and Corey; sister-in-law, Arlie Bigelow, Kentville; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Laurence "Mike"; twin daughters, Lydia Mae O'Dell and Mary Lee O’Dell; three brothers, Burdett and his wife, Lillian, Burrill "Sam" and his wife, Valerie and Dwight "Skip". Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place at a later date in the Habitant Cemetery, Kings County. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society, the Canning Baptist Church or Evergreen Home for Special Care. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
