Nancy Evelyn "Nan" Davison

Nancy Evelyn "Nan" Davison  (February 13, 1925 - February 8, 2015) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Evelyn "Nan" Davison of New Minas, NS, at age 89, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Coldbrook, King's County, she was the daughter of the late Henry William Latter and Catherine Caroline (Blunston) Latter. Educated at schools in Lakeville and Kentville, she left school during the Depression to work and help feed the family. Known as "Nan" to her grandchildren and their children, she oversaw five generations of family (as well as the neighbours kids) with loving care. Her interests included knitting, quilting, baking, doing preserves, gardening and singing. She always had time for family and friends, and never made a promise she couldn't keep. She enjoyed country drives, beach barbecues and, in her youth, swimming and playing baseball. She is survived by daughters, Betty Spencer, Judy Russell and Cindy Davison; sons, Wayne and Harold Davison; 11 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Vernon Davison; longtime companion, John Rogers; brother, Harold; stepsisters, Doris, Shirley and Marguerite; a brother, Harry, in infancy; daughter, Janet Justus and a granddaughter, Beth Samson. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A church memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
