Alicia Rosealee West

Alicia Rosealee West - 70, of Kentville, formerly of East Halls Harbour, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Born and raised in West Halls Harbour, she was the eldest daughter of the late Barry and Lida (Misner) Millett. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Vernon "Mort" West and infant son, Nicky. She is survived by children, Laurel (Wayne) Taylor, Nannette (Frankie) Doherty, Crystal (Leslie) Doherty and Troy (Danielle) West; grandchildren who she adored, Tiffany, Tyler, Chantell, Jessie, Mackenzie, James, Kiefer, Samantha and Logan; siblings, Merle (Connie), Sandra (Michael), Audrey (Casey), Randy and Candace (Bruce); many nieces, nephews and cousins. She loved the "mountain" where she grew up and raised a family. She formerly worked for Canard Poultry, where she held several union positions fighting for the rights of working women. She will always be remembered for her dedication to keeping up on the news, love of animals, feeding the wild birds and kindness to those she met. She was one of the last members of the East Halls Harbour Advent Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015. Burial will take place in the East Halls Harbour Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the local S.P.C.A. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
