Gertrude Vera Sim

Gertrude Vera Sim - 94, formerly of Northville and Kentville, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in East Halls Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Lance and Lottie (Carson) Huntley. She dedicated her life to her family, the farm and her community. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by two sons, Douglas (Doris), Middleton; Donald (Mary Ann), Greenfield; four sisters, Sheila (Donald), Calgary; Linda, Wolfville; Fern, Scotts Bay; Constance, Yarmouth; two brothers, Philip (Marjorie), Greenwich; Don, Toronto; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; a daughter, Margaret; five sisters, Minnie, Sharon, Sarah, Joyce and Mary; two brothers, Carlton and Fletcher. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
