Joan Cavelle "Ding" Misner

Joan Cavelle "Ding" (MacPherson) (Hart) Misner - 61, of Kentville, passed away suddenly, Sunday, March 1, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Sydney Mines, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Reashore) MacPherson. She had a long career as an LPN in private nursing and was currently employed at Grand View Manor, Berwick. Ding was a hard worker and natural-born caregiver to all, especially her family. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her grandbabies as well as being a strong supporter of her family. She is survived by her husband, Bruce "Jake" Misner; a son, Jason (Kellie), Halifax; three daughters, Serilla (Richard) Gardner, Centreville; Sara (Mark) Fraser, South Alton; Geraldine (Craig) Stevens, New Minas; a sister, Margaret Andrews, North Sydney; five grandbabies, who were her pride and joy, Azlyn, Gavin, Tyson, Gabriel and Katie; three stepsons, Jordan (Katrina), Justin and Jonah, all of Alberta; two step grandchildren, Jacob and Emma. She was predeceased by her first husband, Frederick James Hart; a granddaughter, Blaise; three sisters, Katherine, Marcella and Judith; three brothers, Andrew, David and John Thomas; five siblings in infancy. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Doctor Judith Saunders officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to The Lodge That Gives or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.  The family wishes to thank the EHS paramedics and neighbours, Heather and Lowell Windrow for their care and kindness. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
