Amy Saunders  Brown

Amy Saunders Brown - 73, of Kentville, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Norma (Greene) Nisbet. She was employed for many years with Avon Foods, Port Williams. She was a long-time member of the Pereaux Baptist Church, the MS Society of Nova Scotia and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville. She and Howard attended many Saturday night dances and they also enjoyed travelling, creating many good memories along the way. Amy was an avid card and bingo player and loved her scratch tickets. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Howard; two daughters, Doris (Darrell) Lightfoot, Canning; Karen (Sheldon) Lightfoot, Kentville; a son, Frederick G. (Shelley) Jackson, Kingsport; a sister, Alice Kelly, Hortonville; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Annie Thody. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 in the Pereaux Baptist Church, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the MS Society of Nova Scotia, the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses or the Valley Regional Hospital. The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the VON workers and the staff of Medical A at the Valley Regional Hospital. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
