Wynyard Robert "Joe" Gladwin

Wynyard Robert "Joe" Gladwin - age 95, of Kentville, died March 17, 2015. Born in Halifax on October 20, 1919 he was the eldest son of the late Gerald and Elizabeth (Anderson) Gladwin. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served with the R.C.N.V.R. from 1939-1945 on H.M.C.S. Esquimalt and H.M.C.S. St. Croix. He was predeceased by brother, Gerald Charles Gladwin; wife, Ruth Caroline (Mitchell) Gladwin and daughter, Jane Elizabeth Townsend. He is survived by son, Gerry Gladwin (Jose), Greenfield, NS; son-in-law, Hugh Townsend, Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren, Gavin, Charlotte, Graham, Kaesy and Stefan as well as six great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A family memorial celebration will be held at a later date. It was Joe's request that donations in memory should be sent to the Salvation Army. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
