Garth Theodore  Brown

Garth Theodore Brown - 89, of Upper Canard, Kings County, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 in the Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Port Williams, he was a son of the late Byard and Theodora (Rand) Brown. He owned and operated the family farm in Upper Canard. In later years he worked on various welding, plumbing and well drilling projects. Garth was a member of First Cornwallis Baptist Church, Upper Canard. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Ells; three daughters, Linda Strong, South Waterville; Debra (Laine) Hooper, Edmonton, Alberta; Jane (Barry) Reid, Whitehorse, Yukon; two sons, Theodore "Ted" (Juanita Flynn), Ontario and Canard; Stephen, Ontario; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Ken, Nathan, Cameron, Kimberly and Christopher; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Adelyn. He was predeceased by two sisters, Frances and Phyllis; a brother, Everett; a son-in-law, Victor Strong. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in First Cornwallis Baptist Church, Pastor Stephen Wheaton officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Canard Burial Ground. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to First Cornwallis Baptist Church, the Kidney Foundation or the charity of your choice.
