Eileen Lucelle May Warden

Eileen Lucelle May Warden - 91, of Wolfville, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the Wolfville Nursing Home, Wolfville. Born in England, she was a daughter of the late William and Annie Louise (Sparrow) Haines. She loved school and received an art scholarship. As a young girl, she was an accomplished competitive swimmer and diver and received many trophies and awards. She was employed as a cashier with Wade's and also worked in their main office. She had a passion for art and was a talented artist, many of her paintings are distinguishable to those familiar with her work by her unique color combinations. She painted sea and landscapes among others, and the elm tree will often be found in her paintings. Eileen's paintings have found their way into art collections over the United States and Canada, Aruba, Australia and in Europe to England and France. She was a member of the "Celler Dwellers" painting group for over 25 years. She loved dogs and  enjoyed gardening, sharing her flowers with many people. She is survived by a daughter, Anne (Lloyd) Schmidt, East Lawrencetown, Halifax County; four grandchildren, Adrian (Rose), Allison, Nichlaus (Annie) and Benjamin; two great granddaughters, LouAnna and Mélodie. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert "Abbie"; two sons, Michael and Geoffrey; a sister, Vera; a brother, Bill and a grandson, Zachary. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A private family funeral service and reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Cathy Pharo officiating. Burial will take place in the Garden of Rest Cemetery - The Anglican Parish of St. James. Donations in memory may be made to the Kings County S.P.C.A. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
