Betty Fuller

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Fuller (Steel), of North Medford, Kings County on May 16th 2015 at the age of 86. Born in Syston, Leicestershire, England, she was the youngest daughter of John and Lillie Steele. Betty is survived by her loving husband and soul mate of 67 years, John and three sons of whom she is extremely proud; Tony and Shirley of Port Williams; Robert and Anita of Sydney, Cape Breton and David and Diane of Blomidon; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Les; and by five sisters, Alice, Ivy, Kath, Peggy and Eileen. Betty immigrated to Canada, with her husband John and two young sons, arriving in Halifax at Pier 21 in 1953. She worked in the lab for MW Graves in the summer months and in 1970, she went to work for Canard Poultry until her retirement in 1987. She is also one of the founding members of Fuller Family Farms Inc., which is still in business today, focusing on chicken and grain production. Betty was a very private person but never hesitated to help when asked. Children have always been the light of her life, the sparkle in her eye. Cremation will take place.
