Margaret Elizabeth "Pat" Blanchard

Margaret Elizabeth "Pat" Blanchard - 87, of Upper Dyke, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Charlottetown, PEI, she was a daughter of the late William "Homer" and Elsie Irene (Diamond) Pethick. Pat had worked as an operator for Maritime Tel & Tel and then worked alongside her husband in their Irving Service Station and Store in Upper Dyke. She loved knitting, doing jigsaw puzzles and was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan. She is survived by two daughters, Paulette (Albert) MacNutt, Centreville; Georgie Blanchard-Allen (Rick Allen), Westfield, Queens County; a son, John (Valrie) Blanchard, Upper Dyke; two sisters, Amy Collicutt, Falmouth; Maxine MacNeil, Amherst; a brother, Allan, Ontario; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Blanchard; a sister, Marilyn; a brother, Robert. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, Reverend Doctor Robert Wallace officiating. Burial will take place in the Canard Burial Ground, Upper Canard, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Kings County S.P.C.A. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
