John A. S. Illsley

John Albert Spittal Illsley - 84, of Lakeville, Kings County, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Lakeville, Kings County, he was a son the late Pern A. and Annie V. (Spittal) Illsley. John was an active and lifelong farmer, devoting much time to his beef farm in Lakeville. He was a welder by trade and had been employed at various jobs including seasonal work with the Department of Highways. He is survived by a daughter, Georgina (Eric) Illsley-Sawler, Lakeville; two sons, John (Roberta), Woodville; Joe (Dawn), Coldbrook; a brother, Harmon (Joyce), Kentville; five grandchildren, Jordan, Devan, Erin, Kelsey and Dominic; a great grandson, Noah; nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Ruth Illsley, Kentville. He was predeceased by a sister, Jackie (Bev) Russell; a brother, Francis. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Billtown Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
