Ernest Parsons

Ernest Parsons - 81, of Kentville, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at home. Born in Shearstown, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late William and Eliza (Mercer) Parsons. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces, being posted in various locations, including Germany and Scotland. He was a carpenter and owned and operated his own contracting business. He is survived by five daughters, Gale, Berwick; Cathy Day, Kentville; Shirley (Larry) Crocker, Kentville; Linda (Stephen) Martin, Kentville; Paula (Dennis) Mitchell, Cambridge; a son, Gary (Gladys), Gaspereau; a sister, Susie Kippenhuck, Shearstown; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Helen Brown; three sisters, Merle, Violet and Shirley; five brothers, Roy, Ernest, Harry, William and Baxter. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
