Christopher Wade "Chris" Arenburg

With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Christopher Wade "Chris" Arenburg, 29, of Pereau, Kings County, at home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Born in Wolfville on July 13, 1985, he was the son of Ransford and Ruth (Messem) Arenburg. Chris was a loving, devoted and proud family man. He was employed by GFL in Dartmouth and had previously worked at H.E. Keddy Bros. in Lakeville. Chris loved being a firefighter, serving with several valley departments over the years, including Port Williams, Canning and Kentville. Chris was a wonderful husband and father and loved spending time with his family at the lake. He is survived by the loves of his life, his wife, Amanda (MacNutt) and daughters, Sadie (7) and Lila (4). He is also survived by a brother, Brandon (Emie) and nephew Isaiah, Cambridge; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nickey and Elaine MacNutt, Pereau; sisters-in-law, Nicole (Tim) Keddy, Kentville; Kimberly (Brian) MacNutt, Pereau; brother-in-law, Evan (Cara) MacNutt, Pereau; paternal grandparents, Robert and Joyce Arenburg, Kentville; Amanda's grandmothers, Doris Walsh, New Minas and Evelyn MacNutt, Pereau; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including a special aunt and uncle, Audrey and Stuart Griffin, Port Williams. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Gordon and Ethel Messem and an aunt, Diane McNutt. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2015, Reverend Doctor Mark Parent officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to a trust fund to benefit Chris' children or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
