Doris Vernice Butler

Doris Vernice Butler - 88, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on October 21, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Marie (Welch) Arenburg. Doris lived in Kentville with her daughter, Terrie and grandson, Jerry Martin for the past 25 years. She was a life-time member of the North Alton Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading novels, was an avid Blue Jays fan and watched many ball games on TV over the years. She loved daily phone calls from her children, as well as friends and relatives. Her family enjoyed all her home cooking, including, pickles, jams, donuts and blueberry grunt. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Charlie) Graves, Kentville; Valerie (Ray) Bishop, New Minas; Pam (Carter) Foley, Windsor; Terrie Martin, Kentville; sons Steven (Marlene), Amherst; Eric (Susan), Nanaimo, BC; Ricky (Pam), New Minas; Ronnie (Sharon), New Minas; David (Mia), Lockhartville; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by the father of her children, Avard; sons, Robert and Laurie; a daughter, Kathy; sons-in-law, Robert Arnold Jr. and Richard Martin; a brother, Herbert; sisters, Helen Howells, Pearl Manilla, Grace MacDonald, Viola McNealy and Phyllis Robertson. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Pereaux Cemetery, Kings County.
