Leonhard Weiss

Leonhard Weiss - 84, of Shannex - Blomidon Court, Greenwich, formerly of Canaan, Kings County, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wurzburg, Germany, he was a son of the late Frederick and Anna Weiss. Having been trained as an automotive upholsterer in Germany, Leonhard was employed by the G. LeBeau Company in Montreal upon immigrating to Canada in the early 1950’s, retiring after 25 years. Leonhard then joined his daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Ron in their automotive glass and upholstery business, Levy’s Glass and Trim. He is survived by his wife, Madeleine (Bergeron), Greenwich; a daughter, Elizabeth Anna (Ronald) Levy, Canaan; grandson, Whitney (Lacey); great granddaughter, Piper; granddaughter, Ashley Levy; a son, Stephen (Darlene), Coldbrook; grandsons, Daniel and Gregory; great grandson, Joseph. Leonhard is also survived by his family in Germany, a brother, Lenz (Margit) Weiss; nephew Tom (Ulli) Weiss and their children, Virginia and Kevin; nephew, Norbert Weiss (Martina) and their children, Maximilia and Julia; a sister-in-law, Munda Weiss; nephews, Andy (Petra) Weiss and Michael Weiss; nieces Eva (Albert), Marlaina (Joseph) and Marianne. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson, Patrick Leonhard Don Weiss; three brothers, Hans, Baptist, and Willy; and a sister-in-law, Kathy. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.  Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
