June Marie Coffill

June Marie Coffill - 83, of Kentville, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015 in Shannex-Orchard Court, Kentville. Born on June 21, 1931 in Grand Pre, Kings County she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Ella (Cross) King. She attended school in Grand Pre for eight years and after moving to Paradise she attended Bridgetown High School, graduating in 1949. After taking a summer course in Truro, she taught for two years in Annapolis County. Returning to Teacher's College, Truro, she completed the prescribed requirements, graduating in 1952. She taught children in Halifax, Kings and Annapolis Counties. In 1955, she married Frank Coffill, she resided in Sackville and later Paradise. She continued teaching in Halifax and Annapolis Counties. After retiring, she taught Sunday School for several years. Moving to Kentville, she joined the Kentville United Baptist Church, where she was a member of the W.M.S. for several years. Her greatest pastimes were gardening, crafts, music and loving to spend time with her family. She is survived by four daughters, Ella Coffill (Eric Henshaw), Kentville; Lynn Levy (David Kerr), Nictaux; Lee, Toronto; Mary Coffill Deveau, Kentville; three sisters, Carolee (William) Morine, New Minas; Alberta (Troop) Wade, Belle Isle; Alice (Hugh) Willett, Ottawa; a brother, Kenneth, Orillia, Ontario; eight grandchildren, Nathan and Naomi Henshaw, Amanda and Sarah Levy, Peretz and Serach, Michael and Daniel Deveau. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Francis "Frank" Kenneth Coffill; a son-in-law, Robert Deveau; a brother, Earl. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015, Reverend Hugh Willett officiating. Burial will take place in the Lower Horton Cemetery, Grand Pre. In memory of her loving husband, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
