Irene Elizabeth Wallace

Irene Elizabeth Wallace - 85, of Kentville, Kings County, passed away at her home Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Born in Kentville, she was the only daughter of the late Basil and Edith Vaughan.  She had been employed as a Nursing Aid at the Kentville Sanitorium and was also a secretary for Dr. Donald Kirkpatrick and New Minas Contracting.  She was heavily involved in the Social Committee at the Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot.  She is predeceased by husband, Francis (Rocky) and brothers, Donald, Gerald, Jack, Stanley and survived by brother, Harris (Dora) of Truro. She is also predeceased by her eldest son, Fred, survived by daughter, Carol, Kentville and sons, Richard (Margaret Rose) of Centreville and Robert (Angela) of Kentville; grandchildren, Keith, Kentville; Michelle, Halifax; Matthew and Amanda both of Alberta and Jennifer (Chad) of Kentville; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Ella.  She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading.  In previous years she loved going to the cottage in Chester and enjoyed the peace and serenity of the lake.  Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral, by request. A private graveside burial will be held at a later date at the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot or charity of your choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
