Richard Roscoe Parker

Richard Roscoe Parker of Hall’s Harbour, passed away peacefully at Halifax QEII Health Sciences Centre, on Saturday, June 20th, 2015, in his 73rd year. Born in Kentville, N.S., he was a son of the late Vilda Irene (Roscoe) and Frederick Neville Parker. Richard was a dedicated teacher of history at the Liverpool Regional High School during his career in education. Upon his retirement, Richard returned to his home of Hall’s Harbour where he was a faithful member of the Hall’s Harbour Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He was active in many groups including the Hall’s Harbour Historical Society and the Hall's Harbour Fundy View Community Society. Richard had a love of history and enjoyed travelling the world. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his aunt Leah Mabel (Pineo) Langille, his uncle Owen William Roscoe, his sister-in-law, Patricia Audrey Parker-Mutch, his sister-in-law Dianne Carol (Lightfoot) Parker, his nephew Craig Garnet Parker, his niece Gillian Rosemary (Parker) Williams, his nephew Geoffrey Richard Scott Parker, and his extended family.  Richard is pre-deceased by his brothers Peter Neville Parker and Garnet Frederick Parker, his sister-in-law Lorraine Lucille (Forsythe) Parker, and his niece Deanna Lorraine Parker. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the White Family Funeral Home, 100 Cornwallis Street, Kentville, N.S., followed by a reception. No flowers by request please. Memorial donations may be made to the Hall’s Harbour Baptist Church, the Canadian Diabetes Association of N.S., the Heart & Stroke Foundation of N.S., or a charity of your choice.
