It is with sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Ralph Edward Vidito of New Minas on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on February 2, 1945 in Kentville, he was a son of Christina (Lunn) Vidito, Grand View Manor, Berwick and the late Ralph Vidito Sr. He had been employed with Cornwallis Supplies, Everett's Sporting Goods and recently retired from the Town of Kentville Parks and Recreation Department. Since his retirement, he has been a fixture at the International Tobacco and News Store in the County Fair Mall, where he will be dearly missed. Ralph is best known for his can of Pepsi, smokes, ball hat and Roy Orbison glasses. He enjoyed bowling, soft ball slo-pitch and especially golf. He was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins, loved listening to the music of Celtic Thunder and Rod Stewart and enjoyed watching the sitcom, Friends. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa (James Woolaver); a son, David (Stacey); their mother, Debbie; sisters, Gail (Everett Butler), Krystal (Derrick Clare) and Wendy (Mark Wile); brothers, Terry (Sheila) and Gary (Sue); four grandchildren, Samantha, Brendon, Cindy-Lee and Nicholas; several nieces and nephews; a life-long friend, Gary "Sore Elbow" Boyd. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by an infant sister, Cindy Lee; maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Edward Lunn; paternal grandparents, Charles and Lillian Vidito. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 12:00 noon, Sunday, July 12, 2015. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
