Albert G. Sweet

July 7, 1929 - August 4, 2015

Albert G. Sweet - 86, of South Alton, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at home. Born in Blue Mountain, he was a son of the late Charles and Bertha Sweet. Albert was very well known as a teamster, always being found at exhibitions throughout the province. When he wasn't running the roads, he could be found giving wagon or sleigh rides, depending on the time of year. He is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Rona (McDow); a son, Leon (Karen Salsman); a daughter, Roxene (Wayne Brown); sons, Gordon (Bernice), Vance (Dot), Robert (Darlene Moore), James (Michele) and Lyndon; a brother, Lawrence (Mary); sisters, Lois Schofield (Donnie Spencer), Gail Mueller, Janet (Robert) White; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Alice; a brother, James. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to the Blue Mountain Cemetery Association. Special thanks to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses and Dr. Mullan for making possible Albert's final wish of passing away at home.
