Joan Ethel (Kelly) (Lang) Dolliver

Joan Ethel (Kelly) (Lang) Dolliver - age 80, of Kentville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2019 with family at her side,  in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Hawkesbury, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Susan Kelly.  She was predeceased by brothers, Alvin, Earl, Edwin and Fred; sisters, Gwen, Lois, and Doris.  Her sister, Jean, resides in Ottawa, Ontario. Joan met and married Colin Lang while working at CIL in Montreal.  After living in Montreal, they moved to Hantsport and finally settled in Kentville in 1972, where they led an active life raising their five children and were very involved members of their community. Joan was a long time member of St. Paul and St. Stephen United Church (now Orchard Valley United) where she was a devoted member of the choir and a founding member of the Hobby Crafters group.  She was an avid curler and golfer and especially enjoyed travelling. She is survived by children, Kathleen (Stephen) Curry, Truro; Douglas (Louise) Lang, Danville, California; Patricia (Steven) Javorek, Centreville; Jennifer (Michael) Miller, Sackville; Peter Lang, Vancouver, BC; grandchildren, Jacob Curry (Jennifer Mantin), Samantha (Adam) LeDrew, Rachel (Colin) LaPierre, Tyler Miller, Curtis Miller, Roman Javorek, Ryan Lang, Jackson Lang, and Jessica Lang;  great-grandchildren, Reese Curry, Milia LaPierre and Calvin LeDrew; step-children, Gordon Dolliver, Tremont, John (Tammy) Dolliver, Stetler, Alberta and their families. She was predeceased by her first husband, Colin Lang in 1996 and also by her second husband John "Stewart" Dolliver in 2007. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019, Reverend Doctor Randy Crozsman officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of your choice.
