Audrey Marie Reeves

1925-2019

Audrey Marie Reeves

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of our beloved Audrey Marie Reeves (Zinck) on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Shannex - Blomidon Court, Greenwich, NS with family by her side. She was a loving mother, Grammie, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Born on May 17, 1925 to William and Mildred (Ramey) Zinck, she grew up in West Northfield. Pre-deceased by parents, loving husband of 56 years, Ray Otis Reeves; son, Ronald; brothers, Harold and Claude; sisters, Glenice Dauphinee, Lillian Roney, and sisters-in-law, Francoise, Fern, and Barbara. Grammie’s greatest joy was her family and she treasured time with daughters, Margaret Ann (John) Broome, Kentville; Shirley (Eric) Hiltz, West LaHave; Arlene (Jim) Aucoin, Bedford; and son, Miles (Mary Ellen), New Ross; brother, Donald, Ottawa and grandchildren, Cory (Vanessa), Carson (Tina), Craig, Cathy (William), Cheryl (Rick), Deanna (Paul), Lisa (Ian), Jason (Seong-Mi), Paul (Shelly), Nicole (Rahj), Kimberley (Jake), Terri, and Joddi (Chris). She was blessed with great-grandchildren, Kaitlen, Ashley, Danielle, Stephanie, Matthew, Samantha, Kayla, William, Samuel, Amanda, Kyle, Dillon, Paige, Lindsay, Ray, Ava, Charli, Willow, and Luke and many nieces and nephews. Audrey was a founding member of the Christ Church Guild, a long-standing member of the Charing Cross Garden Club, and, in later years, part of the musical group Country Sunshine. She retired in 1987 from the New Ross Variety Mart, after decades of serving her customers. Known for her love of feeding others, she was happiest when her guests brought their hearty appetites. Audrey was a wonderful storyteller, who shared vivid accounts with amazing accuracy. She had a clear memory of people, places, and dates and was considered the family historian. She kept daily journals for most of her life. Heart-felt thanks to the staff at Wolfville Elms and Blomidon Court for their extraordinary care and love they extended to her. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 at the Forties Community Centre and funeral service at 2:00 on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Christ Anglican Church, New Ross. A private family interment following the service will be at the church cemetery. Reception to be held at the Forties Community Centre. Donations in her memory may be made to the Christ Anglican Church Guild, New Ross or the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line condolences and inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
