Darren Lee Pineo

1968-2019

Darren Lee Pineo

Darren Lee Pineo - age 51, of Kentville, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. It is with complete and utter sadness I say goodbye to my best friend Darren, who was always my rock, heart and soul, and the love of my life. Whenever I needed him, he dropped everything and came to be with me. He has left me with three amazing children who are, in so many ways, just like their father. He instilled in them lots of knowledge and always had their backs 100%. He was ripped from us way too young and we had so many plans. I will say he has introduced us, especially my children, to an amazing support system in the people in his life that he helped or taught something to. The support we have received from everyone is amazing and the words about Darren have really let us know how many lives he has touched over his 51 years. He leaves this earth with a piece of my heart and my everlasting love forever and always. They say this hole in my heart will mend in time but I don’t know, it’s a huge hole that has left me lost and broken. He did make sure we had lots of extended family as well as the adopted ones that I know will be there for us for a very long time. Words cannot express how much the support and love we have been shown over the past few days has helped start the healing and helps with the grief. Darren was a man with a plan and a plan and another plan. He just could not keep up with them all. He was a true friend who always helped someone out no matter what. Thank you all for sharing in his life. As a young boy he loved to play hockey, he was a goalie, in to dirt bikes and bicycling everywhere with his friend Robert. He loved anything with wheels and a motor. Darren was a daredevil from a young age and that never changed, "go easy" wasn’t in his nature. Darren loved hunting and fishing, his time at the race track with his boss, Fred, the off-road community and all their events and trails, his new passion of over-landing with Andy and the boys, his many, many hours with Zack (whom the kids called his adopted son and their brother) and Roy (the candy man) in the garage where they all loved tearing apart the numerous vehicles and projects and making them something new and better (overkill) until it broke and they had to do it again bigger and better. Darren had so many more plans for the next Jeep project which, with help from Alex, Ben, Rebecca and Zack, will be finished in his memory and hopefully just how he would of wanted it done. We are sure Darren is busy wherever he is now getting everyone in on his plans there and making them just as overkill as always. Darren was the beloved son of Louise (Best) Pineo, Kentville, and the late Wendell L. Pineo. Darren is survived by his loving wife, and best friend, Carie Lynne (Durno); devoted father to his children, Alex, Rebecca and Benjamin; brother of Glen (Tanya); nephew, Brandon; niece, Sydney; parents-in-law, Bruce and Lynda Durno, Cambridge; brother-in-law, Scott (Colleen) Durno. Darren was predeceased by his father, Wendell Lee Pineo in 2014, with Leukemia. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. A celebration of Darren’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Words cannot express how we feel for everything and everyone. Donations in memory may be made to the Jacob Stern Memorial Toy Drive.
