Faye Cynthia Sponagle

Faye Cynthia Sponagle - age 68, of Avonport, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Elsie (Phillips) Greenlund. Faye had been actively involved in many churches, including: St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Hantsport, Lockhartville Baptist Church, Falmouth Baptist Church, St. Luke’s Anglican Church in Dartmouth, Anglican Parish of Wilmot and St. John’s Anglican Church, Wolfville.  She was also a member of the Breast Quest Dragon Boat Society. Faye worked at Disco Food Mart, Hantsport, Lavinia’s Old English Delights Avonport Discount (Fabrics) and Hantsport Pharmasave. She enjoyed bus trips, quilting, Hallmark Christmas movies and recently, bird watching. She is survived by her husband, Alan, Avonport; sons, Matthew (Katie), Dartmouth; Paul (Luciana), Ottawa; grandsons, Benjamin and Leo; brother, Orville Greenlund, Hantsborder, Nick (Terri) Hird, Pompano Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Faye Spidle, Forest Hill, Kings County; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother, Perry Spidle. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.  The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in the St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Hantsport, Reverend Lynn Uzans and Reverend Paul Jennings officating. Interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank everyone for their care, kindness and compassion expressed to Faye. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Valley Hospice Foundation, Annapolis Valley – VON or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
