Gloria Mae Lockhart

Gloria Mae Lockhart - age 80, of New Minas, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late Eldred and Minnie (Schofield) Mosher. Gloria was raised in Lumsden and later White Rock City. She trained in Windsor and later worked as an RN at the NS Hospital in Halifax and the BFM in Kentville, retiring in 1973. She enjoyed knitting, golfing and puzzlebooks. She hosted daily coffee meetings for the women of the neighborhood and her nightly phone call check-ins will be sadly missed. She is survived by a daughter, Natalie (Troy Jodrie), Port Williams; son, Gordon (Jennifer Davidson), Gaspereau Mountain; step-son, Steven (Jacquie) Neil, Kamloops, BC; special granddaughter, Ava; step-grandchildren, Carson, Mitchell, Emma, Olivia and Hunter; brother, Doug (Paige) Mosher, White Rock; sisters-in-law, Mary Mosher and Joan Mosher, both of White Rock; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Boyd; grandson, Tyler Davidson; brothers, Laurie and Malcolm; sister, Mary-Ann (Gary) Atwell. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Evergreen Home for Special Care for their care, kindness and compassion. Donations in memory may be made to the Lung Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
