Bessie Winnifred Misner

Bessie Winnifred Misner - age 85, of Wolfville, formerly of Kentville, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020, in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Rockland, Shelburne County, she was a daughter of the late George and Elenora (Swansburg) Decker. Bessie worked hard all of her life. She was employed at a fish plant in Little Harbour as well as the Nova Scotia Sanatorium, Kentville, from 1950 until it closed, followed by the Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville from where she retired in 1989. She is survived by two sons, George (Marilyn), Kentville; Harry (Carol), Kentville; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; three sons, Phillip, Stewart and Raymond; a brother, Ira Decker. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2020 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Thelma MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
