Maurice Frederick Harris

Maurice Frederick Harris – age 80, of Centreville, Kings County, passed away at home with his family by his side on Thursday January 16, 2020. Born in Greenfield, Kings County, he was a son of the late Roy and Lillian (Bezanson) Harris. He was the 11th child from a family of 13.  Born on November 11, 1939, needless to say his lucky number was 11. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia (Baldwin) Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Jeff Bushell, Canada Creek; son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Angela Harris, Chipman Brook; grandson, Hunter Bushell, brother-in-law, Donald Baldwin; several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. In his early years he was employed with Cyrus and Manning Ells and later went into carpentry where he had his own business for many years. He was a member of the Port Williams Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years. He played baseball for many years, loved hunting, playing guitar and singing. He passed all of these interests onto his grandson, who, in Maurice’s final weeks of life, would often be comforted by Hunter playing guitar and singing to him. There will be no visitation, by request. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
