Phyllis Mildred Hiltz - postponed

Phyllis Mildred (Ward) Hiltz passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2020 in St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's NL. She was in her 97th year. Born in Tremont, NS on July 7, 1923 she was the daughter of Beatrice and Seymore Ward. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Gordon, her husband of 64 years, Cecil Hiltz and their son, Brian.  Leaving to mourn are her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Peter Crocker of St. John's NL and her daughter-in-law, Dolly Brenson of Edmonton, AB, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. As well as a wife and mother, she held various bookkeeping/accounting positions in banks, the Wolfville Dairy and most recently, Acadia University. She was also a long-time member of the Port Williams United Baptist Church and a volunteer with the local hospital auxiliary, achieving a Life Membership award in the Nova Scotia Association of Health Auxiliaries in 2016. She was also an avid gardener, all her life growing flowers and vegetables, which she delighted in sharing with neighbours. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request.  Service arrangements have been postponed until a later date - to be announced. Burial will take place in the Tremont Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
