Russell Gregory Johnson

Russell Gregory Johnson - age 67, of Kentville, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late George "Albert" and Kathleen (Johnson) Johnson. Russell joined the West Nova Scotia Regiment and was a member from 1969-1976. He had been employed as a school bus driver. Russell was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville. He is survived by daughters, Elissa Marie Johnson-Kelly (Mark Peterson) and Christina Johnson; son, Matthew Johnson-Kelly; grandchildren, Brady, David, Kaylee, Christopher and Brendan; sisters, Mavis Ann Weir, Kathleen May Bennett (Jim), Sylvia Lorraine Bennett (Michael); brothers, Charles Robert (Gloria), James William (Sharon), Leslie Albert (RoseAnn), Thomas Bruce (Cathy), Gordon Joseph (Karen), Richard Ronald (Cathy); eight nieces, 16 nephews and a number of great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, baby girl Corkum, in infancy; twin sister, Rita May, in infancy. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. with a Royal Canadian Legion Service to be held at 6:30 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2020, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Habitant Branch No. 73, Canning.Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
