Edna Jean Woolaver

Edna Jean "Jeannie" Woolaver – age 73, of Blomidon, Kings County, passed peacefully away Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Wolfville, she was a daughter of the late James and Edna (Greene) MacBride.

After having graduated from Mack Business College, Jeannie worked at Acadia University before she settled into married life. She worked tirelessly alongside her husband, taking care of the bookkeeping, raising children and countless other things. Yet, she found time to tend to her beautiful flower gardens and her feathered friends, which brought her great pride and joy.

During the time leading up to her passing, Jeannie was surrounded by her family where she shared stories, laughter and made sure they knew how much she loved them. These precious moments will forever comfort her family in the days ahead as they recover from this tragic loss.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Woolaver; a daughter, Jane Woolaver, Blomidon; two sons, Scott (Kimberley) Woolaver, Blomidon; Michael (Michelle) Woolaver, Blomidon; a sister, Emeline Porter, New Minas; a brother, Wesley MacBride, Canning; four beautiful grandchildren, Klayre, Dylan, Tristan and Brendan; many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Emily, in infancy and Arley Bigelow; two brothers, Elmer MacBride and Malcolm MacBride.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Blood Services, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Valley Hospice Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
