Kathleen Lois Rand

Kathleen Lois Rand, 91, of Arlington, Kings County, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at home.  Born in Scott’s Bay Road, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Frances (Schofield) Benjamin.  Kathleen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.  She had a great love for gospel music and always looked forward to attending church. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce MacDonald (Floyd), Arlington; Irene Sanford (Daniel), Alberta; Marlee Rand (Ron), New Minas; Lois Conway (Stella), Kentville; and Sherry Rand, Kentville; her sons, Alvin (Donna), Arlington; Calvin (Trudi), Arlington; Richard (Melody), Arlington and David (Bertha), British Columbia; 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Madeline Russell, New Brunswick; a brother, Hubert Benjamin (Eleanor), Burlington, Kings County; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Rufus; a daughter, Jean Thompson; sons, Rufus Jr. and Louis; a sister, Pearl; brothers, Wilbur, Morley and Victor. A private family graveside service will take place in the Arlington Community Cemetery.  Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
