George Weldon "Skip" Huntley
1949-2020
George Weldon "Skip" Huntley, age 70, passed away at Northwood Manor, Halifax on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Verge and Martha (Davison) Huntley. George was a taxi driver in the Annapolis Valley for many years, until an accident occurred that caused him to be unable to continue working. He enjoyed his work and meeting new people. He was a lover of music, especially country and blues, and could often be found playing music for his friends and family, and later the other residents of Northwood Manor. He is survived by his siblings, Verge (Arlene) Huntley, of Windsor; Ruth (Wayne) Jess, of Ontario; Marsha Hudgins, of Halifax; and Hugh (Deanna) Huntley, of Newellton; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Brad Hudgins. George’s family would like to extend sincere thanks of appreciation to the staff and nurses of Northwood Manor for the exceptional care given to George during his time there. There will be no visitation or funeral service by request. A private family burial will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to Northwood Manor or a charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
