David William Johnstone

David William Johnstone, age 61, of Kentville, passed away on July 2, 2020 at the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Kentville, he was a son of Jean (Johnstone) Bond of Kentville, and the late John Johnstone. David was a faithful member of Hope Center Church, New Minas. He would always like to remind people that "Jesus loves you". He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, going for drives and exploring for special items. He also enjoyed fiddling around with guitars, fiddles and banjos. In addition to his mother Jean, David is survived by his son, Ronald (Natalie) Johnstone and granddaughter Emily, of Canaan; sisters, Leta (Ronald) Williams of Centerville; Darlene (John) McInnis of Grand Pre; and Michelle Adams (Grant Metham), of Enfield; brothers, Jimmy (Muriel) Johnstone, of Waterville; Paul Johnstone of Aylesford; John Johnstone (Debbie Veinotte) of Waterville; Daniel (Tanya) Johnstone of Meadowview; and Sam Johnstone of New Minas; step-father Everett Bond of Kentville; step-daughters, Marie Brewster (Draper Scott), Marley Brewster (Nathan Pulsifer), Melissa (Wylie) Capp and Marilee Johnstone (Ryan Barkhouse); step-grandson and best buddy, Alex, all of Kentville; as well as several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father John; sister, Rosie Johnstone; first wife, Sheila (Collins) Johnstone; nephew, Christopher Williams; and great-niece, Emma Witter. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. Funeral service will be held in White Family Funeral Home Chapel, Kentville, at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Hope Center Family Church – New Minas or the Canadian Cancer Society.
