Garth Malcolm Sponagle
1941-2020
Garth Malcolm Sponagle – 78, of Garland, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at home. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Frank and Alice (Delaney) Sponagle. Garth worked as a heavy-duty diesel equipment mechanic and eventually supervisor for CN Rail. He then went on to work for Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations in York, Pennsylvania, USA, from where he retired. He also had a passion for flying, as a private pilot. Garth is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma (Fillmore); a son, Quintin (Shelley) Sponagle, Upper Vaughan; a daughter, Robin (Philip) Mack, Port Williams; a brother, Michael (Gloria) Sponagle, Isaac’s Harbour; six grandchildren, Justin (Ashton) Sponagle, Jordan (Tiffany) Sponagle, Jenna (Mark) Rushton-Stevens, Rachel (Ryan) Blaikie, Matthew Mack, and Emily Mack; seven great grandchildren, Emma, Isabella, Malachi, Joshua, Tai, Levi and Zoey; nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation, a private funeral service will be held in the Weston Christian Fellowship Church, Weston, Kings County, Reverend Ken Fillmore officiating. Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville.
