E. Fay Macdonald

E. Fay Macdonald – age 78, of Kentville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2020 in Rose-Marie Care Home, Hantsport. Born on April 28, 1942 in Exeter, Ontario and raised in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late John "Harold" and Hazel (Hay) Murray. Fay attended Berwick School and Mack Business College and had been employed at Western Kings Memorial Hospital, Berwick until she married R. Douglas "Doug" Macdonald in 1961 and moved to Kentville. She was an active member of the Berwick United Church and the former United Church of St. Paul and St. Stephen, Kentville, where she was also a member of the choir for many years. She was a former member of the Valley Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Fay enjoyed singing and had been a soloist at many weddings and various church services over the years. She enjoyed playing the ukulele, playing bridge, knitting, ceramics and tole painting. She had been employed with Orchard Crafts Gift Shop for seven years in the 1980’s. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by daughter, Susan Kingsbury, Kentville; son, Bruce (Donna), Halifax; grandchildren, Beth Kingsbury, Andrew Kingsbury (Danielle), Emily Kingsbury (Daniel) and Gracie Macdonald; sister, Ann (the late Hugh) Hubbs, Cobourg, Ontario; brother, Douglas (Eunice) Murray, Ottawa, Ontario; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, R. Douglas "Doug" Macdonald. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
