Arshnell Walter "Art" Coleman
Arshnell Walter "Art" Coleman, 89, of Kentville, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 in Soldier’s Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Joseph and Estelle (Zwicker) Coleman. Art was a carpenter and did many odd jobs throughout the years. He had served in the Canadian Armed Forces and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Kings Branch No. 6 Kentville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a generous, kind man. Above all, Art was a loving father and grandfather and was extremely proud of his grandchildren. He was well known and loved by all. In his later years, he could often be found hanging out with his buddies at Tim Hortons. Art is survived by his daughter, Joelene Johnson (David Burns); son, Darcy Johnson (Crystal Noiles); their mother, Sandra Johnson; brother, Gail Coleman; grandchildren, Gavin Coleman, Lucis Coleman, Devin Megher, Dante (Justine) Johnson and Abigale Thomson. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lillian Alma (Corbett) Coleman; sisters, Olive, LuLu, Helen and Belle; and brothers, Bernard, Wade, Fulton, Kenneth and Douglas. Cremation has taken place. A private combined Royal Canadian Legion and funeral service will take place in White Family Funeral Home Chapel, Kentville, with a video webcast of the service available on Saturday, November 21 at 2:00 p.m. A public interment service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Pastor Gerry Bezanson officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Royal Canadian Legion Kings Branch No. 6 Kentville.
