Dorothy Louise Usher

Dorothy Louise (Connors) Usher, 89, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Somerset, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Rita (Gould) Connors. Dorothy was a long-time resident of Cambridge, and recently a resident of Berwick West. She started working at the Sanitorium at a young age, then Avon Foods in Berwick for nine years. She cleaned homes for 32 years, retiring at the age of 72. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Murray (Sharon) Connors, of Lakeville; Darren (Danielle) Usher, of Centreville; and Darrel (Debbie) Usher of Centreville; sisters, Violet (Everett) Dalton and Elizabeth "Libby" (Henry) Chapman, both of Waterville; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Ira Usher; son, Garry Usher; and siblings, Thelma Connors, Leroy Connors, Barb Usher, Robert Connors, Donnie Connors and Margaret Pinch. Dorothy’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. David LaPierre, Dr. Donald Clark, the palliative care team especially Tara Debuc, the VON Nurses and Home Support for all their compassion and care. Cremation has taken place. A public graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2020 in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
