Shirley J. de Jonge

1942-2021

Shirley J. de Jonge

Shirley Jean (Brothers) de Jonge, 78, of Woodville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, January 3, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born in Cambridge to the late Baden and Viola (Bezanson) Brothers. Shirley was the perfect, loving wife to Cornelis "Casey" de Jonge. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters, as well as nieces and nephews. Shirley was loving, caring, kind and had the biggest heart. She always kept busy, whether puttering outside in her garden or painting another one of her beautiful canvases. Her famous line was "I’m no house cat". She took pride in mowing her lawns on her ride-on tractor and enjoyed going bass fishing with her brothers. She loved shopping trips with her sister and best friend, Marilyn. Shirley touched the lives of all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Diabetes Canada or the Kings County SPCA. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line condolences and inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
