Harland Earle "Harley" Corkum – age 87, of Halls Harbour, Kings County, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born on April 9, 1933 in Avonport, he was the son of the late Harland and Alvery (Morine) Corkum. Harley was humble, kind, loving and a man of his word. He truly cared for every person he knew. He was a gifted self-taught violin and fiddle player. He shared his music with everyone until the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions prevented him from doing so. Harley loved his Lord and his church. He studied the Bible earnestly. More than that, and with the Lord’s guidance, he loved his fellow man. We will miss his laughter and his hugs. He is survived by his beloved sisters, Joan Silver, Shoreham Village, Chester; Edith Smith, Dartmouth; half-sister, Linda Sawler, Chester; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of 43 years, Grace (Magee). He longed to be in the arms of Grace and Jesus. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. A private funeral service will be held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A webcast of the service will be available at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021.
