Linda Maud Kennickell

Linda Maud Kennickell - age 93, of Prescott Lane, Shannex, Blomidon Court, Greenwich NS, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Born in East Halls Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Delancey and Charlotte (Carson) Huntley. She was a very hard working and kind person who especially loved children. In her lifetime, she worked in housekeeping for the Nova Scotia Sanitorium and the Cornwallis Inn, both in Kentville. She was also employed in production work at Glendale Foods, Sheffield Mills; Hostess Foods, New Minas; the Dominion Paper Board, Billtown; Canard Poultry, Canard and worked in janitorial services at CanVin, Wolfville and Cornwallis District High School, Canning. She is survived by daughters, Connie Burton, Charlotte (Ken Rhynold) and Daphne (Joe Parker); sons, Harry (Cheryl Andrews) and Trevor (Tina Huntley); eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; sisters, Sheila (Donald Faulkner) and Margaret "Fern" Bishop; brothers, Donald Huntley and Philip (Marjorie Arenburg) Huntley; sister-in-law, Thelma (Simpson) Huntley and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cyril; granddaughter, Stephanie Dodwell; son-in-law, Jack Burton; two siblings in infancy; sisters and their spouses, Minnie (Henry Patterson), Joyce (Norman Deal), Gertrude (Gordon Sim), Sara (Cecil Mitton), Mary (Malcolm Parker) and Sharon (Archie Buchanan); brother, Fletcher and his spouse, (Helena Hudgins) and brother, Carleton; brother-in-law, Robert Bishop. There will be no visitation, by request. A private family funeral service will be held in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A video webcast of the service will be available at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021. The family wishes to thank Dr. Targett as well as the nurses and staff of Shannex, Blomidon Court for their wonderful care, kindness and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice.
